“We are merely explorers of infinity, in the pursuit of absolute perfection.”
– Matthew Brown
Deep under the layers of our civic personas, we are all explorers in search of answers to the deeper questions about our journey. Explorers and admirers of this limitless cosmos, which stimulates us in measures beyond that our mortal minds can ever comprehend. I think travelling is one of the best ways to experience this splendid expedition.
.
I love travelling, experiencing and learning from other cultures and ways; And have been an itinerant since I can remember. While in school, it was NCC camps, then martial art camps, then presenting technical papers during engineering, and then for work. And still, to this day, have the same fervent urge to experiment and explore beyond usual waters of the self-validating chimeras that we usually live in. And so, continually travel the world, seek moments that take our breath away, and learn from ways of other cultures.
To travel is to live, to understand that the world is infinite and to realize that all we know is a grain of sand on an infinitely abundant beach. Travel is a treasure of life energy. It may dissuade some at first but it’s an awesome experience, really. The things you learn about so many things that you didn’t even know existed is such soul food I can’t even attempt to articulate.
.
And as bonus, you collect experiences. Experiences so pristine that riches cannot buy, power cannot claim and intellect cannot envision. These are the treasures one should never miss in their lifetime. Jogging down Kirby cove on a misty morning looking at the foggy Golden bridge, witnessing the colours fall of Michigan’s upper falls, admiring the archipelagos of Rio de Janeiro, strolling down the giant’s causeway with my favourite Scotland in sight, watching the sun set atop the cliffs of Sagres, admiring the splendour of Versailles, full moon nights in the apricot farms of Majorca, roaming the temple of Apollo in Pompei, meeting HH The Pope in Vatican, admiring Michelangelo’s work in Sistine chapel, standing mesmerised by Tromoso’s northern lights, listening to Beethoven’s work in the 1100 year old Bazilika Svateho Jiri, letting myself be awestruck by the art work of Moscow’s St. Basil’s Cathedral, strolling thru the streets of Cairo where Pharaohs once walked, the Hagia Sophia, the Burj Khalifa, the Taj Mahal, the (al)mighty Himalayas, the virgin beaches of west India, the temples that have stood many millennia, meeting HH the 14th Dalai Lama, Everest basecamp in Nepal, the coconut farms of Srilanka, the Terracotta Warriors of Xi’an, the Angkor Wat, rice fields of Sa Pa, the Jeju island, Samurai training in Japan, the countless islands of Philippines, heavens of Thai shores, Bondi beach…. there’s no end to this..!
.
This section of my website is a tribute to all those wonderful people I met in this journey, and their contributions in enriching my experience. I also hope it encourages others to travel and nudge those who need that final push to book the ticket.
.
PS: If you are a traveller and explorer at heart, I have some notes for a smarter travel on all the places mentioned on this website (i.e. how to travel, when to travel, what time of the day is best, how to be safe, and other tips). I’ll be more than happy to share my notes – only – if you give something back to society (anything). If you are busy or need some ideas, visit my ‘Giving back to society‘ page or ‘Donate -> Shop‘ page for some hints. If you have any questions, I’ll be glad to address them via ‘Contact page‘
Go, explore this awesome world.
Bon voyage _/\_
